Rong Youjian, Deputy General Manager of Huajin International Holdings Co., Ltd. and General Manager of the Sales Department, gave a detailed introduction to the development process of Huajin Group so far and the advantages of Huajin Metal Industrial Park under the theme of "Docking at a Good Wharf Together, Investing in the Park Business Circle". "In January, the first 30,000-ton-class berth at Huajin Wharf was successfully launched and put into operation, and the second-phase project has been successively started for construction. In the future, direct north-south freight liner services will be opened. Compared with inland river freight for ships below 5,000 tons, 10,000-ton-class ocean-going ships can save customers about 50% of the shipping costs." He said that Huajin Metal Industrial Park, with Huajin Wharf as the core, is equipped with storage areas with different functions as well as processing and trading areas, aiming to build a metal trading platform with national influence and become the largest steel-using enterprise cluster in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Once fully launched, the annual market trading volume is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan.
Ms. Chen Li, General Manager of the Cold Galvanizing Department of Shanghai Ganglian E-Commerce Co., Ltd., gave an excellent speech titled "Review of Mysteel Coated Sheet Coils in 2023 and Outlook for 2024". She summarized the market situation of Mysteel coated sheet coils in 2023. She believed that the prices of the three major varieties generally declined from January to December. Among them, the price of color-coated sheets dropped the most. Strong expectations and weak realities repeatedly competed with each other. Affected by the weak overall macro environment, the supply of galvanized sheet coils showed a slight recovery this year, and the supply of cold-rolled sheets warmed up compared with that in 2023. With the gradual improvement of the overall macro environment in 2024, the development of the manufacturing industry will help cold-rolled varieties to "reach a higher level".
Dai Wu, Manager of Over-the-Counter Derivatives for Black Commodities of Guotai Junan Risk Management Co., Ltd., shared his views on "Discussion on the Steel Market in 2024". He said that the supply elasticity on the raw material side is limited, and there is cost support for steel. Due to the wide distribution of manufacturing industries, industrial materials will still maintain relatively good resilience in demand. The black commodities as a whole maintain a fundamental pattern that is moderately optimistic. However, the pessimistic trend in the equity market affects bulk commodities, so it is necessary to be cautious about pessimistic sentiment in the short term. Overall, the steel market may show an upward trend amid fluctuations this year.
Jin Miaogen, President of Jiangmen Branch of Bank of Guangzhou, gave a theme sharing on "Supply Chain Finance of Bank of Guangzhou Helps the Park Develop at a High Speed". "Jiangmen City is actively promoting the development of the manufacturing industry and making it the dominant force for economic growth. Relying on the wharf logistics, the park is adjacent to strong manufacturing cities such as Foshan, Zhongshan and Dongguan, with a large regional demand for steel and obvious geographical advantages and huge cost advantages." He said that Bank of Guangzhou can provide a comprehensive supply chain financial service plan for the park to empower the high-quality development of Huajin Metal Industrial Park.
